Graduated from Foundations for Counseling Ministry (2025)

about project
The Foundations for Counseling Ministry School (FCM) was an introductory course designed to teach essential skills like active listening, understanding belief systems, and discerning the voice of God. During my time, we explored the impact of beliefs on behaviors, delved into topics like rejection and rebellion (Plumbline), family dynamics, attachment and bonding during developmental stages, trauma, human sexuality, and more.
During my time in the school, we focused on:
The Heart of the Matter: Moving past surface-level symptoms to find the "root issues"—the places where past trauma or family patterns have shaped how we see ourselves and God.
Clinical Tools: Learning professional skills like active listening, mapping out family genograms to identify generational cycles, and healthy conflict resolution.
Holy Spirit-Led Healing: Recognizing that while tools are helpful, the Holy Spirit is the ultimate Counselor. We learn how to invite Him into the room to bring the kind of freedom that only He can provide.
Restoration: Helping people process grief, break through cycles of shame, and walk the difficult but rewarding path of forgiveness.
